Why we made it

The ritual deserved
better design.

Hemp wick has always been simple. That does not mean the experience has to feel disposable.

HempHives™ was created for people who care about the details—the feel of the glass, the shape of the hive, the way the wick dispenses, and the satisfaction of keeping something made with intention.

It is functional by design, collectible by nature, and unmistakable wherever it sits.

Read the short origin story

HempHives started in my college backpack in 2006. I hand-wound small hemp wick hives for friends and kept them clean inside old black film canisters from my grandparents' camera stores.

A few years later, a small clear jar sparked the idea for a display-worthy home created specifically for the hive. That idea became the HiveKeeper™.

People kept emailing, sharing photographs, and asking when the original would return. This limited relaunch is our answer—and my thank-you to everyone who kept the hive alive.
